Castalia's Max A' La Macho

I watched Max enter this world. In fact, I was there when his Mom entered this world. I've found Max to be a playful, sweet buddy. But he's all male and quite the studmuffin. He's looking to relocate on a farm with more loving serfs and lotsa gals.

What are you willing to share about yourself to paint us an image of who you are within?

I'm a bit shy in one moment and suddenly my hormones go nuts and I'm chasing females all over. That rotten Chelle took away all the gals except the pregnant ones so I tend to get spit on a lot. I don't care, a man has to do what a man has to do, ya know? I like music and I've practiced a bit of karate on other males. Don't care much for other guys. I still feel a bit intimidated around my dad, but don't all teenagers? I love grain, but I don't get any in the summer. Next to chasin' gals, the best part of my day is dust baths. They feel SO good.

What do you do to put bread on the table AND are you enjoying it AND how did you arrive there?

Hummmmm. I don't have a table or eat bread. If ya mean hay & grain, I just prance about and strut my stuff. I'm basically irresistible. I know that sounds egotistical, but I'm 'all that' and more.

What are your favorite words of wisdom and how have they influenced your choices and path in life?

"If you hear drumbeats, think llama." by Chelle. I hear a noise like drums and I always think 'llama'. Female llama! As to how it's influenced my path, well, I get spit on.

Give us 10 descriptive words that apply to you.

Calm, Balanced, Optimistic, Friendly, Wooly, Touchable, Patient, Persistent, Sexy (sorry, it's true), Well-bred.

What inspires you on a daily basis?

Back scratches, good food, Stillwater minerals, the whiff of an open (not pregnant) gal.

Please chat with us about any message important to you.

It is important to me that I live somewhere that I can be me, meaning with some friendlier females. I'd also like to be taken to shows. I want the world to be a safe, grain-filled environment where all llamas are loved and pampered. I'm pretty used to being well cared for, I can't imagine anything less, but I know some llamas don't get the good stuff that I do.

What's your dream?

I move to a huge ranch full of green grass, a great barn and lots of OPEN females. I get ribbons & trophies in all the shows I attend. I become a star in llama magazines and my stud services are in such demand that my serf's (also known as owners) worship the pasture I walk upon.

Tell us about one person who has influenced your outlook on life.

My Mom, Countess A' La Macho, better known as Tess. My Mom is HUGE (around 400 plus lbs) and NOT fat. She's tall, active and most of all, she's smart & loving. She's 1/2 Chilean and very woolly. She is pure class. The only thing I hate is that she doesn't want me around much now. She had a new son (cria) and pretty soon there'll be another. She also gives that rotten Chelle lotsa whiffles (llama kisses) and lets her touch her all over, lift her feet, do ANYTHING with no halter. Sometimes I wish Mom would be a bit more aloof, but she does get a lot of attention. In most ways we're more alike than I like to admit. We don't live in the same pasture, but I can see her.

Your favorite book, movie and song?

Book is any llama magazine with females in it. Movie is 'Dr. DooLittle' and song is 'Don't Fence Me In'.

Describe to us the place you go to reconnect with your personal muse.

There's a huge fir tree with a dust pile underneath in my pasture. I go there and meditate.

What is your idea of a great evening?

I like going with Chelle walking in the woods, out to get the mail and basically anywhere that's new. But I think my greatest evening will be my first breeding. I can't hardly wait for that!

Anything else you'd like to add ?

If any llama breeders out there have my dream home, I'm available! Chelle says the right people and some money means a new home. But I can't leave til I settle my first gal this Spring. Yehaa!

Thanks, Max. In spite of the 'rotten Chelle' references, I love ya! With hugs & smiles, Chelle

NEWS FLASH!!!! On 3-18-96 Max was adopted by Nancie Gilbreath & Family of Prairie Point Llamas and will have everything he dreamed of! A new farm, lots of loving care and his OWN females! He moved to his new home in fall of 96 with one of his future loves, Castalia's Truly Sassy Lass. He took 4th place in his class in 1997 at the American Royal held in Kansas City, Missouri. He was shown by his buyer, Nancie Gilbreath of Prairie Point Llamas. BUT, before he left he did some breeding and Max's first cria is Castalia's Maxine Minx. Max can also be seen my pages at Kris Kringle Crias and Boyz at Play.

UPDATE: Unfortunately Nancie lost Max in January of 99. We all miss him. I still have Minxi, and Max's full sister, Castalia's Countess Honeypie. She looks a lot like Max and you can see her first cria, Starz, here.
