Alaskan hunting models It is the classic paddle-powered model.
It can be sailed, rowed or driven by a small outboard
and makes a fine camping or beach boat. Design length is
nominally seventeen feet.

The Bent Rib umiak is native to the Bering Straits region.
This is a larger boat, 20-25 feet. This is a round-bottomed workhorse,
good for extened trips too.

Sumiak is a hybrid, bent rib umiak adapted for recreational use.
This is a strong, el;egant and light beach boat, rowboat,
day cruiser and camper. Drawn at thirteen feet, this design
can be built up to 16 feet LOA with little or no change.
