Center Church on Lopez Island,
was dedicated in 1889. In the early years this was a Presbyterian congregation, then later was affiliated with Congregational and Methodist denominations. During World War II services were moved to the Community Church in Lopez Village. The church building officially became the property of the Lopez Union Cemetery Association in 1967. Roman Catholics began holding weekly Mass here in the 1980’s. Lutherans began gathering for worship regularly at Center Church in July 1987. Regular worship services continue to be held here by Catholics and Lutherans.
