We really want to show off our crias!

Our Lady of the Rock got their first llama in 1995 when Bruce Barr of San Juan Island, offered us a llama and her cria. Itsy, a pure Chilean female, had been his late wife's pet. This gentle llama became our Laserena, the producer of some of our finest fibered animals also known for their gentleness. Not knowing a thing about llamas, we contacted Maggie and Ron Schuler of Bauernheim Llamas on Orcas Island. Maggie warned us they are terribly addicting! She became our llama mentor, and Ron became our vet.

Mother Hildegard, who cares for the sheep and llamas, has a doctorate in child and adolescent psychology with an emphasis on using animals in therapy. She currently has a 4-H llama club on Shaw. To the left you see one of our dams, La Morenita (Legend's Nemaha X Lucrecia). La Morenita also loves to watch over the sheep. Llamas are very curious, and these two were watching Mother Dilecta and Maeve in one of the gardens.

Our herd now numbers about 30, which also includes a few of those little camelids called alpacas. Our llamas and alpacas live on 300 acres in some of the country's most beautiful scenery. Thanks to Maggie, Ron and Bruce, we now have some of the finest fibered animals in the country with wonderful dispositions and strong pedigrees.

We usually have breeding stock for sale, so please contact us for availability and pricing. Please check back because soon we'll have some lovely females online for sale too! We also sell pets, and specialize in beautiful fibered, gentle male llamas for 4-H children (which are trained and ready to go). Visitors are always welcome and we have a guesthouse on the farm for you to stay, but do call or email first.

Castalia's Rammalita

Our newest addition is Merit's Juana Bonita de la Roca. She's too stunning to adequately show in photos. We can't wait to get this gal in the show ring!

Her dam is Castalia's Rammalita, a Legend's Rammas granddaughter. Rammalita and her famous grandsire had that twisted suri lock fiber long before it was a popular. Rammalita's sire, Castalia's San Juan Silver, also produced several other suri fibered crias, ranging from solid black to champagne and fox red. A good look at Juana's papers reveals a myriad of fine fibered, well-known llamas.

She is very correct, has the softest, uniquely colored fiber (lots of hidden gray) and a gentle attitude of complete assurance!

Dulcie's sire is Chilean Cabellero, and her grandsire, Don Divo.

Hugging Dulcie is like hugging a huge teddy bear, and she's as gentle as they come. You will fall in love with this gal!

Bauernheim's Dreamboat Annie

Paquito is a taupe gray and white male with incredible fiber, sired by Chilean Cabellero.

Paquito's dam, Bauernheim's Dreamboat Annie, is known for throwing the most gentle of cria. Annie is out of Bauernheim's Chickenheart (also dam to Legend's Rammas) and boasts many "greats" in that line - such as Poncho Via, Pagliachi, and Errol Flynn. Annie's sire is the super fine fibered, grey English male, Union Jack.

Paquito is as gentle as he beautiful. And his fiber is yummy!

Dona's dam, La Serenada De La Roca, is sired by Bauernheim's Black Lite (Sheherazade's Black Knight X Harmony's Kashmere). Serenada's pure Chilean dam, Laserena, started our herd in 1995.

Dona is destined for the show ring, so you can enjoy her "wins" before she gives you stunning crias of her own!

Margarita de la Roca

Hildalgo is also sired by Chilean Cabellero, and out of our Merit daughter, Margarita de la Roca. Margarita's dam is La Sombra De La Roca (sired by Sheherazade's Black Knight, out of our gorgeous La Morenita).

Hildalgo has the most lustrous and silky fiber - very suri looking. He has a lot of class and is certainly a herdsire prospect. He has the conformation, the fiber, and the bloodlines to add excitement and beauty to any herd! We think he looks a lot like his grandsire, Don Divo.

Cuzi De La Roca

female * 5-21-04 * #260231
Chilean Don Mateo
x
Castalia's Niello Glory

Cuzi is another fantastic Chilean Don Mateo daughter.

Cuzi's bay black dam, Niello, is a Bauernheim's True Colors daughter (Union Jack X Bauernheims The Temptress). And her dam, Castalia's Blaze of Glory, is a HUGE Legend's Rammas daughter.

Cuzi is half Chilean, and definitely has plenty of stars in her bloodlines. Curled, fine fiber is common on both sides of her family.

Cuzi is the Incan word for joy, and she IS a joy to work with!

OUR STUDS

In 2003 OLR acquired two wonderful sons of the ever fabulous Don Divo (Chilean Leroy Brown x Chilean Diva #162) from Star Sapphire Llamas in Montana. Our first cria out of these pure Chilean males are here! These photos do not begin to do Cabellero justice. Guests just stand and stare at his beauty. Like his sire he is very tall and correct with dreadlocks and a very gentle nature. Since we had two Don Divo sons, we recently sold Cabellero, but are offering his beautiful crias for sell. Don Mateo is a true black, also gentle, and covered in very shiny, soft fiber. We're offering a few outside breedings to both of these stunning males. We also have our wonderful male, Bauernheim's Sir Theodore, who we call Teddy. Teddy has consistently thrown beautiful-faced, correct offspring. He is the son of the wonderful Sheherazade's Black Knight (Union Jack x North Star's Sheherazade) and Misty Moon's Soleil (Misty Moon's Antares x Bauernheim's Hannah Honey). One of Teddy's daughter's, Estellita, is here and a KNOCKOUT! If you want a breeding age female, ask about her!
