Course Outcome and Evaluation:

Assignment:
Write a paragraph or two as to what you find to be the value of the nature-connected "webstring" approach of the Orientation course in helping the vast population who, along with the environment, suffer the effects of their thinking's disconnection from nature.

Response:
As I am a fairly kinestetic kind of person, I first sense things in my body in a wholistic manner, and think best when in motion with nature. Even if I am lying on the ground and watching the clouds, I tend to notice that all of the world is in motion; pure harmonious, colourful, musical motion. E-motion. Earth-motion. I like playing with words, and occasionally breaking out of the lingustic boxes of our highly language-driven world. Language is meant to communicate and yet, in so many ways, language is often used to convey status, power, and separation from each other. Natural communication cuts beyond language. In the past year, I have taken some time to begin learning two language; Japanese and Spanish. Yet, after taking this course, I can imagine myself and other people who speak different cultural languages sitting together and deeply "understanding" each other through webstring connections, without speaking a word!

In participating and communicating with our natural world, we re-connect with ourselves. This psychological webstring approach is a very practical and "down to earth" way that we can all use to help ourselves heal, grow and change in a life-sustaining manner. This approach is not dependent upon a university degree, or a social position on the artificial hierarchy of material wealth. It is dependent upon a sincere desire to connect with nature in a very deep way. It can be done in a park in an inner city, with a small plant in a room full of garbage, or out in the midst of a beautiful, pristine wilderness area. It encourages us to focus our attention on the living essence of whatever natural environments we find ourselves in, and experience the webstring connections that exist in that time and space. On a psychological and global level, this has far-reaching potential.

In helping ourselves, and in turn helping others, to re-discover their webstring connections, we are repairing the damage that we have done to each other and our earth. By starting with ourselves, we have taken a step towards a healthier, life-sustaining world. By helping even one other person re-connect in this positive manner, we have lovingly re-established another severed and damaged webstring connection that binds us all to each other in this world wide web of life.
