Revisions and Updates

Course, Degree and Certification Program Declaration and Application Procedures

We often most appropriately know ourselves and best relate to the world by the role we are attracted to playing at a given time or place. For example, people relate to us differently and we feel and act differently when we are in "uniform" than when "off duty," when playing at a beach rather than visiting a library, as parent or teacher rather than engaged in a swimming race. This phenomenon also affects what we gain from and give to a situation or relationship.

When we make and express a commitment to something we are attracted to, we often do better in fulfilling that attraction or goal because we are conscious of our focus and intention; in turn, others are aware of and attracted to respect and support us. For this reason, people who are attracted to participating in an IGE course, degree or certification program are asked to make a declaration of their intentions and they are accordingly treated and rewarded appropriately. This helps students and faculty produce more supportive relationships and a greater degree of excellence.

The following are the various attraction/interest categories that apply to most IGE participants. To best honor and appropriately support a candidate's goals and preferences, as of October 1, 2002, the application requirements and procedures have been updated as follows:

CATEGORIES:

1. Standard Application, no scholarship requested

2. Application With Scholarship Petition

3. Application with Equivalency Degree Waiver.

4. Orientation Course for information alone.

5. Course with optional study materials

6. Course without optional study materials

As of October, 2002, IGE and its Application Form and procedures for entering the program in cooperation with any affiliated University, recognizes and honors the six categories (above) through the following admission requirements:

All Applicants in categories 1-3 are required to read a short overview article that describes the program and its purpose. Optionally explore the article links that are of interest to you. Also familiarize yourself with the the IGE program through our IGE website. Then submit your Application Form which includes a 300 word statement of the attractions you find (things you were attracted to and why) in the overview article and in visiting the IGE website.

1. Standard Application, no scholarship requested:
After submitting the application form and $100 Application fee (non-refundable) and being accepted to the program, you proceed with the program upon payment of your first semester's fee of $1500. The Orientation Course is taken using the accompanying textbooks as this produces the greatest learning and preparation for future use.

2. Application With Scholarship or Cooperative Certification Program (CCP)::
After submitting the application form and a $500 Application fee (non-refundable) and being accepted to the program, the Orientation Course is taken. The $500 includes: payment for the Orientation Course and its books and materials, Application Fees, ECO 503, ECO 508, and entrance into the Graduate Student Cooperative. This $500 is deducted from your total tuition due after scholarship funds are allocated.

3.Application with Equivalency Degree Waiver.
Same as 1 or 2 above except the Orientation Course must be taken before finalizing your application. This is to assure you and IGE that you have the capacity to do the coursework at your degree level.

4. Orientation Course for information alone or use elsewhere.
Submit the Orientation Course Application Form and the appropriate Application fee (non-refundable).

Course with optional study materials $55-$125

Course without optional study materials $35

To apply for admission use the Application Form and Procedures pages as a guide and follow the instructions there.

Petitions are considered on an individual basis for special needs with regard to the Application process described above.
