Biography

Born in Montreal, Canada, Sheila Simpson-Creps was raised primarily in the Seattle area. She received a degree in French from the University of Rochester in 1979 and then pursued studies in weaving and textile design. In 1983 she received a three-year certificate in Weaving from the Pacific Basin School of Textile Arts in Berkeley, CA. She returned to school in the late 1980’s and in 1991 received a M.F.A. in Painting from the University of Oregon. She currently resides with her husband on Lopez Island, WA.
