Who Are We?
The San Juan Island Family Resource Center is a community facility offering programs and services, as well as resources and referrals, designed to build on the strengths and capacities of our island families.
Programs encourage individuals to assume maximum responsibility for their own lives. We work with family members to strengthen their confidence and ability to raise healthy and resilient children in today's ever-changing world.
Our work is supported by grants and contributions from Office of the Superintendent for Public Instruction; United Way of San Juan County; San Juan Island Community Foundation and its Women's Fund; See Foundation; Jennie S. Baker Fund/Seattle Foundation; San Juan Island School District; Department of Health and Community Services; Opportunity Council; Friends of the San Juan Island Library; and other local community groups, individuals, and volunteers. We are a non-profit corporation (#91-2014083).
What Do We Do?
The San Juan Island Family Resource Center organizes a variety of programs for children and their families:
Prenatal to 3 Years Program for parents and young children
Other on-going activities for parents and young children
Readiness to Learn for students in Elementary, Middle and High School
San Juan Island Mentoring Program for Elementary to High School-aged youth
