From time to time, we run into wood that is a bit above the norm, or different from the “run of the mill” stuff...

This “Specials” page is where you’ll find it....

Unless noted, the photos of the wood are of the actual piece being offered, and will

be marked “SOLD” ASAP after it is sold...

To purchase, email me or click the “Buy” button and we’ll go from

there...

OK, If you’re a fan of heavily

figured redwood over an old-

growth grain pattern (and I

am), you’ll love this stuff....

A special stash indeed...

Originally milled for a renovation

of the Hotel Del Coronado in

SoCal in the 70’s (see the 3rd pic

here--wow!)....

It should resaw into some beau-

tiful guitar tops, Weissenborn tops,

or archtop guitars...

The wood is extremely dry and

light in weight....

They have been stored in the

California desert for 30 years...

Nice tight graining under the heavy

figuring...

#695:  A billet of the Hotel Del Coronado

stash measuring 48” x 11” x 3.25” thick...

On quarter, with tight graining...

Would make beautiful  one-piece man-

dolin tops...

The pic is of the wood unplaned, with a

rough surface...

500.00.
