In Our Community
Contributing to the Islands' Culture of Collaboration
As a local, cooperatively owned company, we're excited to collaborate with our friends and neighbors, in service to our strong and vibrant community. This is a showcase of some of the great events and organizations we've enjoyed working with.

The Friday Harbor Film Festival brings the power of documentary film to San Juan Island - curating stories that entertain, inspire, and enlighten. Through the annual October festival, free monthly screenings, youth programming, and community partnerships, FHFF engages audiences and filmmakers in the conversations that matter most.

You're familiar with the 4-H youth programs geared toward raising livestock (it's the best part of County Fair!). Did you know 4-H also has STEM projects? (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). Rock Island is proud to sponsor San Juan County's 4-H STEM project this year. Join us at the fair to see what they have built!

Named in honor of Katie Heeb, this nonprofit organization is committed to providing a lifeline to individuals and families affected by cancer.
Rock Island is proud to sponsor a team for the 2026 softball fundraiser, all proceeds going directly to helping local families with the myriad costs accrued during cancer treatment.

Soroptimist International/Friday Harbor is the local club of a world-wide service organization whose mission provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. Locally, our club supports our community through members' service
and we raise funds to support our varied programs.
