REDUCE YOUR MONTHLY BILL

We understand that fitting everything into the budget can get tricky.
There are a few ways to save big on your internet bill.

EQUAL

ACCESS

The Federal Lifeline program offers a $9.25 discount on internet and phone services. Rock Island has established a fund to increase that discount to $30 for Lifeline qualified customers.

ACCESS

RI

Anyone residing in designated low-income housing is eligible for our RI Access rate plan. This rate offers 50Mbps speed for $50/month, with no activation fee. This can be applied to either fiber optic service or fixed wireless.

Designated low-income housing includes:
  • OPAL Community Land Trust
  • Orcas Longhouse
  • San Juan Community Home Trust
  • Lopez Community Land Trust
  • Housing Lopez
OPALCO members can apply for monthly assistance on their power bill through the Energy Assist Program. Bring us a copy of your OPALCO bill showing the EAP discount, and we'll add a $25 discount to your internet service bill.

If you have any questions or need help applying for any of these programs please let us know!

Discounts may not be combined. Seasonal residents are not eligible for reduced rates listed on this page.
Customers using the OPALCO EAP discount to receive a reduction in their Rock Island bill must reapply for the discount every 12 months (we will remind you).
Lifeline customers need not reapply; as a verified service provider under the Lifeline program, we can access their database and confirm if you are still enrolled in the program.
